Panera Bread obtained assistance from the Community Development Commission in the entitlement process and partnered with the West Covina Chamber of Commerce on June 20th in order to host a Grand Opening Baguette cutting ceremony. Four New Restaurants Open at The Curve

The Curve The City of West Covina, the West Covina Community Development Commission, and Barranca I, LLC is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of four new restaurants to the "The Curve". The Curve is comprised of four family restaurants including; Johnny Carino's, Islands Fine Burgers and Drinks, Pick Up Stix, and Chipotle. The Curve is named after its signature location, the curve along Eastland Center Drive and the North West corner of Barranca.

The development is the result of joint efforts from the City of West Covina, Community Development Commission and Barranca I, LLC. The City had recognized the need to develop the site, which was previously vacant land. At the time of the Eastland Center development the site of the Curve project was established as a development opportunity parcel for future development opportunities. In June of 2003, the Community Development Commission Board approved a deposition and development agreement with Barranca I, LLC, for the development of the site. The design of this project was to develop a first class dinning experience with top-quality restaurants, a wonderful dining atmosphere with lush landscaping, and a waterfall.

Johnny Carino's, a full service Italian restaurant, offers guests an authentic Italian atmosphere from the menu to the decor. Islands Fine Burgers distinctive tropical atmosphere, provides a fun, and casual setting for guest to enjoy gourmet hamburgers, chicken, soft tacos and fresh salads. Pick Up Stix's offers Chinese fresh from the Wok, which include their signature entrees such as House Special Chicken and the Cream Cheese wontons. Chipotle, a hip Mexican fast-casual Grill, caters to those with the taste buds for gourmet burritos and tacos.

City of West Covina welcomes new restaurants at The Lakes

The Lakes The City of West Covina, the West Covina Community Development Commission, and Hillcrest Development are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of several new restaurants to the Lakes Entertainment Center adjacent to Edwards Cinemas. The new restaurants include Macaroni Grill, Dono Sushi, Ohana's Hawaiian Grill, Red Brick Pizza, Juice it Up, and Vieta Coffee.

The West Covina City Council and West Covina Community Development Commission have envisioned developing this site into an exciting and vibrant downtown for West Covina residents. This process began a number of years ago with the development of the Edwards Cinemas in 1997 and the completion of Coldstone Creamery, Fatburger, and Rubio's Baja Grill in April 2003.

This collaborative effort by the City of West Covina, West Covina Community Development Commission, and Hillcrest Development, has resulted in a first-class restaurant development that will enhance the downtown area and provide additional dinning options to residents and visitors to West Covina.
