The West Covina Courthouse is located at 1427 West Covina Parkway, West Covina, in the civic Center. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The West Covina Courthouse is part of the Los Angeles County Superior Court system.

Parking
Parking at the courthouse is free. However, please note that parking on some levels is restricted to employees of the court.

Public Entrance
The public entrance is on the northwest corner of the building, facing the parking structure. This is the only entrance and exit to the courthouse.

Civil Department
The Civil Department maximum Jurisdiction is $25,000.

Criminal Department
Pre-scheduled court dates will be on the calendar. If your case is not on calendar or you want to appear in court on a non-calendared case, you must report to the Criminal Department before 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Fines may be paid by mail or in person in the Criminal Department. For additional information, you may contact the Criminal Department by calling (626) 813-3239.

Small Claims Department
The maximum jurisdiction for a Small Claims case is $5,000. However, you cannot file more than two small claims actions in the State of California for more than $2,500 each during a calendar year.

Before filing a claim, the plaintiff must ascertain the correct legal or business name of the defendant. For additional information, you may contact the Small Claims Department by calling (626) 813-3226.

Traffic Department

Office hours for the Traffic Department are:

Monday-Friday

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

You may have your citation pre-calendared for arraignment by calling (213) 742-1928. You may pay your citation by mail or in person in the Traffic Department. Correctable violations must be signed off on the back of the citation by a peace officer or Department of Motor Vehicles representative. The court does not accept repair receipts as proof of correction. For additional information, you may contact the Traffic Department by calling (626) 813-3204.
