MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be currently enrolled in a college program leading to a degree in Civil Engineering. Must possess a valid California Class "C" Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Working experience in and knowledge of AUTOCAD is highly desirable. Computer skills, including spreadsheets, database, and word processing programs are desirable. Ability to perform tasks using Microsoft Office Software, such as Office, Excel, and Access is highly desirable.
College transcripts will be required at the time of the oral interview. Sample(s) of AUTOCAD work products can be presented at the time of the oral interview.
DUTIES
Performs office and field duties related to engineering, planning, traffic, and/or other similar technical activities; does routine drawing and drafting of maps and plans; prepares blueprints; maintains records on plans, maps, tracts, deeds, surveys; conducts traffic counts; may serve as a member of a survey party; and does related work as required.
WORK HOURS
This is a part-time position with no benefits. Work hours are approximately 20 hours per week. Work hours may be scheduled to fit individual's academic program.
EXAMINATION
Candidates deemed most qualified will be invited to an oral board interview. Candidates may be tested on their knowledge of civil engineering theory, principles and techniques; ability to follow instructions; communicating clearly and concisely; and their public contact skills.

Qualified candidates will be notified at a later date for the time and place of the examination. Under the City's examination procedure, failure on any part of the announced examination will be grounds for disqualification of an applicant.
