MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of general maintenance activities in City parks, within or outside City buildings and facilities, or as a member of a maintenance crew performing landscape, street, or repair work.
Supervision Received
Direction is received on a daily basis from Maintenance Leadworkers and/or Supervisors.
Essential Functions
- Performs general maintenance of city parks requiring mowing, trimming, raking, digging and planting.
- Performs minor repair and light construction work.
- Uses hand and power tools in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Assists in general street maintenance work involving asphalt patching and concrete repair.
- Operates city vehicle.
- Assists in the installation and repair of water and sewer lines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in landscape, maintenance or general repair work. Valid California Driver's License.
