PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Job Summary
Under general supervision he/she (upon completion of approved Departmental training) will perform selected police functions.
Representative Duties
- Conduct parking enforcement and issue citations,
- Reports traffic hazards,
- Appear and testify in court,
- Other related duties as required,
Position Characteristics
The position primarily involves enforcement of State Laws and Municipal Ordinances that relate to vehicular parking restrictions. Parking Enforcement officers may be required to appear in court as a result of the issuance of parking citations.
Training and Experience
Graduation from High School or G.E.D. equivalent.
Knowledge and Abilities
A high degree of general intelligence, verbal facility, memory, and adaptability.
The knowledge and ability to understand and carry out departmental policies, rules, and instructions; to understand laws and regulations; to understand oral directions, to use good verbal skills and to have safe driving habits.
Physical Recruirements
AGE: Shall have reached their eighteenth birthday.
HEARING: Must be good and without defect.
WEIGHT: Must be in proportion to HEIGHT.
VISION: Must be correctable to 20/20 and without color blindness.
Licenses
Must possess a valid California Drivers License.
