Los Angeles County Registrar's Office

Voter Services for Persons with Disabilities
California law permits voters with specified disabilities, their spouses or primary care providers to apply for Permanent Absent Voter (PAV) status. For information regarding this program, please call the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office (562) 466-1323.

Whenever possible, the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office and the City Clerk's Office recruits voting locations accessible to persons with disabilities; however, if your polling location is not accessible, you may vote your ballot outside the poll location.

Cassette tape recordings of the information printed in ballot pamphlets for state and county measures in primary and general elections are available for voters with vision impairment. The tapes are available approximately four weeks before the election and may be obtained from the Election Information Section at the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office, Information Section (562) 466-1310, libraries and the Braille Institute.

Poll Workers/Locations
The Los Angeles County Registrar's Office needs:
  • Public spirited citizens to volunteer to serve as Precinct Officers (stipend $45 - $60)
  • Voting locations, especially those accessible to persons with disabilities (stipend $25)

If you are interested in providing one or both of these important services please call the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office, Polls Division (562) 466-1373.
