CANCELLATION OF THE REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
AND
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
The regular meeting of the Planning Commission scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in the City of West Covina Council Chambers, has been cancelled due to lack of quorum.
A Special Meeting of the Planning Commission has been scheduled for Monday, June 25, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the City of West Covina Council Chambers. The purpose of the special meeting is to conduct business as indicated on the attached Agenda.

This is the time for the public to comment on any item on the Consent Calendar. As Consent Calendar items are considered routine in nature, they are normally enacted in one motion. The Chairperson may remove a questioned Consent Calendar item for separate action.

The applicant is requesting the first one-year extension of time on the above-referenced item.

HEARING PROCEDURE:
You are encouraged by this Commission to express your views on any matter set for public hearing. It is our procedure to first receive the report of the Planning staff, then to ask for public testimony; first from those in favor of the matter, followed by testimony from those in opposition to it, and, if there be opposition, to allow those in favor, rebuttal testimony only as to the points brought up in opposition. CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
APPLICANT: Ontario Neon
LOCATION: 2101 West Garvey Avenue North (Northwest College)
REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval of a variance to allow a 30-foot tall freestanding sign and to allow a sign area of 465 square feet. The administrative use permit is required to allow an electronic readerboard. The electronic readerboard sign will be use to advertise classes and events associated with the college. The property is located within the "Neighborhood Commercial" (N-C) Zone.

The applicant is requesting approval of a temporary use permit to allow private parties, including dancing and entertainment, on June 28 and July 12, 2007, days that are not permitted as specified in the existing conditional use permit.
