SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

WEST COVINA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

March 16, 2006

Chairman Sanderson called to order the special meeting of the West Covina Community Development Commission at 2:30 p.m. in the City Manager’s Conference Room at City Hall, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA

Mr. Norman Hoffman, on behalf of Ziad Alhassen, reiterated the comments of his March 10, 2006 letter previously sent to City Manager Pasmant. Mr. Hoffman stated the developer has been working in good faith to complete the project and the City does not have good reason to take any action against the developer.

CLOSED SESSION Chairman Sanderson recessed into closed session at 2:40 p.m. to discuss the following matter.

CONFERENCE WITH REAL LEGAL COUNSEL — ANTICIPATED LITIGATION

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c)

One potential case.

 

OPEN SESSION General Counsel Alvarez-Glasman and Assistant Commission Secretary Rush were present for open session at 4:03 p.m.

General Counsel Alvarez-Glasman stated the Community Development Commission convened at 2:30 p.m. for Conference with Legal Counsel — Anticipated Litigation. Chairman Sanderson called the special meeting to order with all members present. Legal representative for Mr. Alhassen and his related dealerships addressed the Commission. Following a presentation by Mr. Hoffman the CDC recessed into closed session for a presentation briefing from legal counsel regarding the one matter of anticipated litigation. The CDC reconvened from closed session.

General Counsel Alvarez-Glasman made the following report: The CDC has taken no action, this matter will be held over to March 21, 2006. There is no further report, as there was no final action.

 

ADJOURNMENT Assistant Commission Secretary Rush adjourned the meeting at 4:04 p.m.
