NOTICE OF 30-DAY PUBLIC REVIEW
FOR THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA
PROPOSED FY 2008-2009
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
ACTION PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of West Covina has prepared its proposed FY 2008-2009 CDBG Action Plan.

The publication of this notice is the beginning of the 30-day public review period required under Federal Regulation 24 CFR 91.105(b)(2). The public review and written comment period runs from March 27, 2008 to April 25, 2008.

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the Action Plan is to be presented to the City Council for approval at a Public Hearing on following date:

DATE:	May 6, 2008
LOCATION:	1444 West Garvey West Covina, California 91790 City Council Chambers
TIME:	7:00 PM

At this Public Hearing, the City Council will receive public comment on the proposed Action Plan and consider written and oral comments, and authorize staff to transmit the Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

ACTION PLAN
The City annually receives CDBG funds from HUD. To receive these funds, the City is required to prepare an annual Action Plan that describes how the City will spend the funds to meet its long-term community development needs.

For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009, the City of West Covina expects the availability of CDBG funds in the amount of $1,388,799. The City proposes the utilization of CDBG funds to implement the programs listed below:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
YOU ARE INVITED: All interested citizens and agencies are invited to attend a public hearing, on:

DATE:	Tuesday, May 6, 2008
LOCATION:	1444 West Garvey, West Covina, California 91790 City Council Chambers
TIME:	7:00 PM

This hearing is to receive comments on the Public Service Projects that have requested funding through the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and to determine funding allocations for FY 2008-2009.

PROPOSED PROJECTS: For FY 2008-2009, the City estimates $208,320 will be available to fund Public Service Projects. Sixteen (16) applications were received, with funding requests totaling $322,927. The table below lists the providers and requested amounts.
