-The Foundation-

Making the Vision a Reality

Hurst Ranch On October 18, 1996, 99 years after the Hurst family first settled in the area, the Hurst Ranch Historical Foundation was created for the purpose of developing an historical museum for the community of West Covina and other visitors.

As descendants of early pioneers, Charles J. (Joe) Hurst, Jr. and Annabelle Hurst Babson and their families hope to preserve and present a part of the rural history of the San Gabriel Valley. The main asset of the Foundation consists of approximately three acres of real property and improvements. The Hurst family has also gifted the Foundation with many of the antiques, artifacts, guns and other collectibles that were acquired by the family since the late 1800's.

Committed to making the vision a reality, the Foundation's Board of Directors brings the experience and leadership necessary to insure the delivery of appropriate administration and sound fiscal management of the museum facility.

The Statement of Mission

The mission of the Hurst Ranch Historical Foundation is to preserve and present an active facility for community use, which illustrates early ranching and community development in the San Gabriel Valley.
