Sherri was born and raised in West Covina and is a lifelong resident. She is the fourth of five children born to John and Muriel Lane. Her parents moved to West Covina in 1954 and were active participants in the community and took pride in raising their family here. Their sense of values, commitment and servicewas instilled in Sherri by the example they set.

For the past 12 years Sherri has actively served this great city of West Covina.

Appointed to the Personnel Commission in 1994 and subsequently the Planning Commission in 2000, Sherri was elected to the City Council in November 2005. Councilmember Lane feels it is vital to protect and continue public safety services at the highest level. Providing seniors with quality programs and affordable housing is essential to the community. She believes it is important to provide and improve the youth programs, as they are the future.

"I will always place the residents of West Covina first and foremost, be accessible, and work hard to address your issues. Together we will insure West Covina remains the finest city in the San Gabriel Valley."
