CITY OF WEST COVINA
NOTICE OF ELECTION
OF OFFICERS TO BE VOTED ON
NOVEMBER 6, 2007
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Consolidated General Municipal Election will be held in the City of West Covina on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, for the following Officers:

Two (2) Members of the City Council Full term of four (4) years

Individuals seeking elective office must be registered voters residing within the city at the time nomination papers are issued. (California Elections Code §201).

Nomination papers will be available beginning Monday, July 16, 2007, at 8:00 a.m. through Friday, August 10, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. at the CITY OF WEST COVINA, OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, 1444 W. GARVEY AVENUE, 3rd Floor.

Pursuant to Elections Code Section 10225, if nomination papers for an incumbent officer are not filed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007, the nomination period shall be extended until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, for candidates other than the incumbent.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by §10229 of the Election Code of the State of California.

The polls will be open on Election Day between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
