WEST COVINA NEIGHBORHOOD WELCOMES NEW TRAILS AT HERITAGE PARK
WEST COVINA, California - The City of West Covina is proud to provide yet another unique park experience to its residents. On Saturday, December 1st, Mayor Mike Touhey officially opened Heritage Park at 3510 East Cameron Avenue. Guests were invited to walk along the developed trail system and see picturesque views of West Covina from various elevations throughout the park.
According to the Community Services Director, Michele McNeill, "Heritage Park is now one of the most beautiful and serene areas in West Covina. It's the perfect place for families to take an aerobic hike, or for couples to enjoy a romantic picnic during sunset."
In November 1994, the City Council approved the Heritage Gardens Historical Park Master Plan that provided for the development of this 14-acre municipal park, and on June 18, 2002, City Council approved the start of that development. The City of West Covina was awarded a grant from the California Resources Agency which helped fund new recreational hiking trails, interpretive signage, picnic areas, planting native vegetation, installing irrigation in open space areas, and a beautiful footbridge over an active creek.
The City of West Covina would like to invite all residents to visit Heritage Park and enjoy its natural amenities.
