Northgate Markets Opens New Store in West Covina
ANAHEIM, CA - December 11, 2006 - West Covina residents have seen a lot of construction activity at the corner of Francisquito and Sunset Ave, and now we know why. Northgate Gonzalez Markets has totally remodeled the store they bought last year and will open for business on December 21. The West Covina store is Northgate's twenty-third, all in Southern California, with the first in San Diego open in summer of 2006.

Mayor Michael Touhey is pleased to welcome Northgate Gonzalez Markets to West Covina and describes the company as a "fine operator" which he hopes will open more locations in the city.

Northgate Gonzalez Markets' story is that of a family of immigrants that lives the American dream through vision, hard work and faith. The first store opened in Anaheim in 1980, and today three generations of the Gonzalez family work in the stores, warehouses and corporate offices, with nearly 4,000 people forming the community of Northgate employees.

Northgate prides itself on providing excellent customer service and on being an active member of the community. "We invest heavily in training our employees so they can provide the very best service," says owner Oscar Gonzalez.
