West Covina Honors Its Fallen Hero

WEST COVINA, CA - On Wednesday, February 28, 2007 West Covina Mayor Michael Touhey announced that the flags at all City facilities will be flown at half-staff through Friday in memory of West Covina resident, Louis G. Kim, who was killed in combat in Ramadi, Iraq on February 20th. Mr. Kim is the first West Covina resident serving in the armed forces to be killed in the line of duty while serving in Iraq.

In addition, Mayor Touhey announced that the March 6, 2007 City Council meeting will include a moment of silence at the begining of the meeting and that the meeting will be adjourned in memory of Louis Kim. "On behalf of all the residents of West Covina, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kim family. We wish to express our condolences to the Kim family on their loss."

- Mayor Michael Touhey
