West Covina Receives Tree City USA Growth Award
WEST COVINA, CA - Award by the National Arbor Day Foundation. This award is presented to cities that have been recognized as a Tree City USA and have demonstrated environmental improvements and higher levels of tree care in the community forestry program.

Mayor Michael Touhey stated, "West Covina has been a Tree City USA for the past 25 consecutive years. The City Council realizes the important benefits of trees in our community and will continue to support the forestry program."

"Trees in our cities help clean the air, conserve soil and water, moderate temperature, and bring nature into our daily lives," said John Rosenow, president of The National Arbor Day Foundation. "Tree City USA designation recognizes the work of elected officials, staff and citizens who plant and care for the community forest."
