WEST COVINA WELCOMES WEST COVINA'S FIRST MARRIOT HOTEL: FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES

WEST COVINA, CA - Brighton Management, Marriott, the City of West Covina, and the West Covina Community Development Commission, are pleased to announce the Groundbreaking of Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott located at 3211 E. Garvey N.

The hotel project will redevelop the former LA Fitness building, which has been vacant for 5 years into West Covina's first Marriott brand hotel. Brighton Management purchased the property with intentions to develop the 1.67-acre site into one of Marriott's newer concepts: a Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel. Fairfield Inn & Suites is an extension of the well-known Fairfield Inn, which offers guests a choice of spacious guest rooms and suites under one roof.

On October 25, 2005 the Planning Commission approved the Precise Plan, Conditional Use Permit (Hotel use) and certified the Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact. In June of 2006, the Former LA Fitness building was demolished and in February of 2007, Fairfield Inn & Suites received issuance of their grading permits. Brighton Management anticipates completion in May of 2008.

With over 15 years of experience in the hotel business, and having previously owned West Covina's Holiday Inn, Brighton Management has established a proven track record for success. "I think this is a great opportunity for our company and the City of West Covina. This will be the first time that a Marriott product will be built in the City and I think that West Covina is a perfect market for this hotel. We're all very excited to be returning to the area." The City of West Covina and the City of West Covina Community Development Commission assisted Brighton Management and Marriott in facilitating the development of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Hotel.

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, a 5-story hotel will include a 57,028 square foot building with 110 rooms. Brighton Management estimates that the new West Covina hotel will generate approximately $220,000 in annual transit occupancy tax revenue, and approximately $110,000 in annual property tax increment revenue to the City. The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel is also expected to create 25-35 new full and part time jobs.
