"The Peanut Man" from Dodger Stadium To give a Special Performance in West Covina

WEST COVINA, CA - There have been some famous Pitchers over the years at LA's Dodger Stadium, but there is only one Pitcher who has pitched a bag of peanuts for approximately 50 years, and that is Roger Owens.

Owens has a reputation as being "the Peanut Man" who brings his good sense of humor to the fans, as he can throw a bag of peanuts dead square in their hands from as far away as 30 rows! He tosses 250 bags a night, for over 20,000 per season, totaling over a million during his career. He has become so renown that many fans pay him in advance for their bags of peanuts, so he can impress their guests who they bring to the game.

He has appeared on "The Tonight Show" five times, has been written up in numerous magazines, including "Fortune" Magazine; and, there's even a picture of him in the baseball Hall of Fame.

He holds the Major League Baseball Record for the all-time longest ceremonial first pitch of the season. In 1976, he threw the baseball from the loge level at Dodger Stadium all the way to home plate, to the Dodger Catcher. And, he has thrown out the ceremonial first pitch of the season twice for the Dodgers; and has thrown peanuts at President Carter's inaugural parties.

In addition to working at all of the Dodger games, he has worked at every LA Clipper Basketball Game in the Sports Arena; many USC and UCLA games, and much more.

To learn more about Roger Owens, you can read the book that tells all about him, "The Perfect Pitch, The Famous Peanut Man at Dodger Stadium". And, if you would like to meet him, come on down Saturday, October 27 to the Big League Dreams Dedication from 1:00-6:00pm.
