City of West Covina Celebrates America Recycles Day 2007
WEST COVINA, CA - Annually, on November 15th, millions of people learn about the importance of recycling and buying recycled products. The purpose of America Recycles Day is to promote the social, environmental, and economic benefits of recycling and to encourage more people to join in improving our natural environment.
The City of West Covina Environmental Management Department will be hosting an America Recycles Day Event on Saturday, November 17, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the West Covina Farmers Market located off West Covina Parkway and Vincent Avenue. Staff will be on hand with giveaways and consumer awareness information to promote recycling and encourage the purchase of recycled products.
We will also be highlighting some environmentally friendly programs like Rent-A-Green-Box.com--the first zero-waste pack and move solution in America! They are called Recopacks (recycled ecological packing solution) and they are the replacement for cardboard boxes.
Interested in Composting? Get information on how you can participate in a free composting workshop planned for Spring 2008, here in our beautiful city.
If you would like more information about this event, please call the Environmental Management Department at 626-939-8411.
