West Covina's Clean-Up Saturdays Program is just around the corner!
WEST COVINA, CA - Clean-Up Saturdays is an annual spring cleaning event started in conjunction with West Covina Beautiful for residents and allows for an unlimited disposal of household trash.

Clean-Up Saturdays operates on five consecutive Saturdays beginning April 19th for West Covina single-family residents serviced by Athens Services. Residents of Los Angeles County unincorporated areas, apartments, mobile home parks, and businesses are not eligible to participate.

Items eligible for pick-up include: Household furniture, household appliances, and bundled residential wood waste. Residents are encouraged to call nonprofit organizations to donate any usable items, appliances, or furniture that is in good condition. Check the telephone yellow pages under "Thrift Shops" or call the following organizations: Salvation Army Pick Up - (800) 958-7825; Disabled American Veterans - (800) 435-7328; and Goodwill - (888) 446-6394. Residents may also call the City's Environmental Management Department at (626) 939-8411 to post items on the City's Product Exchange Program which helps match usable items with community residents in need.

Items that will not be picked up include: Loose broken glass, rocks, sod, broken asphalt/concrete, unbound vegetation, tires, auto parts/auto bodies, and household hazardous and electronic wastes.

Coming in May 2008, the City will host a local Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Waste Round-up (HHW & E-Waste). It will take place at the City Maintenance Yard on Saturday, May 17th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. For information on other free HHW and E- Waste Round-Ups, call (888) 253-2652.
