-Relay For Life-
"The Youth Council helped with the planning and implementation of the American Cancer Society's 'Relay For Life' event.

The event, which was held on July 10 and 11, was a 24 hour walk-a-thon for cancer awareness.

This relay, the first to be held in West Covina, occured at Edgewood Middle School track.

The American Cancer Society raised approximately $8,000!

Members of the Youth Council volunteered to coordinate the 'Mission Delivery' or information/education aspect of the event.

Members also helped with sign-ins and handing water to walk-a-thon participants.
